The New Pacific Institute (NPI) is a policy research organization devoted to the promotion of better understanding and sociopolitical ties across the Pacific region. NPI is seeks the promotion of peace in the Pacific Basin in this time of uncertainty.
The institute was founded in 2010 by San Francisco residents Kyle Mizokami, founder of the Japan Security Watch blog, and Dr. Craig Hooper, founder of the NextNavy blog, as a research and discussion forum on military and political developments across the Pacific Ocean.
NPI now has representatives in Japan and New Zealand, in addition to the West Coast of the United States.
